Although many pulping operations no longer use chlorine for bleaching, countercurrent packed scrubbers are still an effective approach for control of chlorine dioxide emissions from ECF operations and total reduced sulfur emissions from paper processing. Our scrubbers can be designed to use various process streams such as extract filtrate and white liquor to minimize chemical make-up requirements while meeting MACT Cluster Rule regulations. Towers are available in both FRP and CPVC lined FRP depending on the application. For existing packed towers, retrofitting with Tellerette Tower Packing can increase the efficiency, capacity, or both. If packing presents a fouling and maintenance problem for a given application, retrofitting the unit to a fluidized-bed design may be the answer and is guaranteed to be non-fouling even when scrubbing with a slurry solution. Ceilcote FRP fans provide unparalleled chemical and corrosion resistance for this aggressive environment with an exceptional service life and minimal maintenance.
